Ingredients:
- potatoes – 4 pcs.
- dill – ½ bunch
- salt
- sour cream – 1 tbsp.
- egg – 1 pc.
- Italian herbs – ½ tsp.
- granulated garlic – 1 tsp.
- flour – 125 gr.
- smoked chicken breast – 100 gr.
- processed cheese – 70 gr.
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.
We wash and peel four medium potatoes, then cut them into small pieces and place them in the pan. Fill the potatoes with two liters of water and add salt to taste. Heat the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until tender. After this, drain the water and prepare mashed potatoes.
Finely chop half a bunch of dill and add it to the potatoes. We also add a tablespoon of sour cream, one egg, half a teaspoon of Italian herbs and one teaspoon of granulated garlic. If desired, we can also add salt to the potatoes. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and add 125 grams of flour.
The recipe may take a little longer to prepare as the quality of flour varies from person to person so it is advisable to pay attention to its consistency. First, knead the dough and try to achieve the desired consistency.
Next, prepare the filling, which can be anything you like. For example, I used 100 grams of smoked chicken breast, which I cut into small cubes, and one creamy processed cheese weighing 70 grams, also cut into small cubes. Mix chicken breast with melted cheese and the filling is ready.
To make a flatbread, we grease our hands with vegetable oil, take one tablespoon of dough and form the flatbread. Then place one dessert spoon of filling in the center, pinch the edges and roll into a ball. Repeat the process for the rest of the dough.
To prepare potato cakes, you need to heat a frying pan and add two tablespoons of vegetable oil. Then distribute them over the pan and fry over medium heat, covered, for about 4-7 minutes until they are golden brown. Then turn the tortillas over and continue to fry them, covered, over medium heat for another 4-7 minutes, until fully cooked.
After this, transfer the potato cakes to napkins to remove excess oil and serve.
